Color Vibe is committed to ensuring a safe and fun event for all of our participants. Since 2012 the Color Vibe has held over 350 events with over 1,000,000 participants and spectators enjoying our events.

Our custom powder is made in the USA and our manufacturer ensures quality control by following Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.) and is G.M.P. compliant. The Food and Drug Administration sets these manufacturing guidelines.

There are many knock-off or low quality color runs out there that use overseas powder made in India. The powder from India is cheap to buy, however it comes with unknown risks. Color Vibe has always felt that it is worth it to use the best quality color powder available even though it is much more expensive. We encourage people to make sure that if you sign-up to participate in a color run, you do so with a company like Color Vibe that uses only high quality color powder that is made in the USA.

Color Vibe remains committed to working with local officials to ensure our event protocols reflect best practices, to eliminate hazards, and to ensure safety.

Fire Concerns

Color Vibe's custom powder is made from cornstarch, baking soda, and food grade colorants.

Our proprietary formula and manufacturing process makes Color Vibe powder non-flammable.

In addition, the powder we use is manufactured in the USA exclusively for Color Vibe and is created using a proprietary "wet suspension" process that meets the highest US manufacturing standards. This "wet suspension" process and our custom formulation makes our powder nonflammable and is therefore much safer than other color powders that are produced in India, Taiwan, and other parts of the world.

Color Vibe has, and continues to adhere to the guidance of fire marshals in taking the necessary precautions to ensure a safe event. In addition to only using our exclusive high-quality Made in the USA powder that is non-flammable, we also implement multiple safety measures at each event that include:

» Color Vibe events are always held in an open outdoor area where the powder is able to dissipate quickly.
» No industrial lights, blacklights, or other heat producing light sources are used at our events as we only hold daytime events.
» A gap is required between the stage and the public.
» Fire, pyrotechnics, flames, and fireworks are prohibited.
» Smoking is prohibited with no smoking signage posted in the area.

Out of an abundance of caution, Color Vibe will continue to implement the above safety measures and work with local authorities to take all necessary precautions to ensure our events are safe and fun for our participants.

Health Concerns

Color Vibe's powder is manufactured and produced in the USA using high quality cornstarch, baking soda, and food grade colorants. Our powder is safe, non-toxic, and biodegradable. As with any substance, you will want to keep it out of your eyes and lungs. If you are overly sensitive, you may want to wear glasses or goggles for your eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for your mouth. (This is especially recommended for our younger runners/walkers)

There have been some concerns with the powder that is produced in India where there are no quality control measures. Often times these powders are shipped in non-marked, unlabeled plastic bags with no identifiable information on the packaging. They are cheaper to purchase, which is why a lot of knock-off color runs use them, but the powder produced in India has been shown to contain harmful substances and unknown ingredients.

Color Vibe does not use overseas powder. We only use high-quality, custom-manufactured made in the USA powder.

As you can see in the image below, the difference between our high-quality, made in the USA powder and the color made overseas in India is obvious. At 2,000x magnification the India pink powder has jagged edges, compared to the USA powder which has smooth, pebble like textures.

Again, Color Vibe only uses high quality powder that is made in the USA. Another screenshot from the news investigation shows the results from the USA made green powder with zero resemblance to rat killer.

The Color Vibe is committed to producing safe events for all of our participants. We encourage individuals to become physically fit, eat healthy, and create memorable experiences for themselves and others, all while sharing positive vibes.

We understand that for some there may be inherent risks associated with running in a color run, just as the case with driving, going to theme parks, or many other activities and events in daily life. We encourage everyone to be safe and use caution in everything they do. The Color Vibe will continue to do our best to promote safety for everyone, especially in practicing safety while producing high quality events.
