Is the race hard?
No, that’s no fun! Hard races aren't fun. Hard races are hard! We are a fun race with lots of color vibes, and we have lots of fun not racing! Color Vibe is the best way to be crazy with friends, family, or imaginary people. You won’t be timed, so there is no pressure to hurry and get ‘er done. Come bask in the colorful world we have created for you!

What is the color made of?
The magical color powder we use is custom manufactured and produced right here in the United States. It is made from food grade quality cornstarch using an advanced manufacturing process that has been custom developed for the Color Vibe Race Series. Color Vibe powder is non-flammable.

Our powder is non-toxic, safe, and also biodegradable. As with any substance, you will want to keep it out of your eyes and lungs. If you are overly sensitive, you may want to wear glasses or goggles for your eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for your mouth. (This is especially recommended for our younger runners/walkers). Is it safe?
Color Vibe is committed to ensuring a safe and fun event for all of our participants. Since 2012 the Color Vibe has held over 300 events with over 1,000,000 participants and spectators enjoying our events.

Our custom powder is made in the USA and our manufacturer ensures quality control by following Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.) and is G.M.P. compliant. The Food and Drug Administration sets these manufacturing guidelines. Color Vibe powder is non-flammable.

There are many knock-off or low quality color runs out there that use overseas powder made in India. The powder from India is cheap to buy, however it comes with unknown risks. Color Vibe has always felt that it is worth it to use the best quality color powder available even though it is much more expensive. We encourage people to make sure that if you sign-up to participate in a color run, you do so with a company like Color Vibe that uses only high quality color powder that is made in the USA.

Can I take pictures?
Of course! For most events we’ll also have our Color Vibe professional photography team covering all of the Color Vibe madness! If you do bring your camera, phone, pager, Walkman, or 8-track, we recommend keeping it in a plastic bag to keep the dust out!

If you are a photographer that would like to come and photograph our event, we will grant you permission with the understanding that any photographs you take may be used and edited by Color Vibe for marketing and promotional purposes with or without your written consent. By photographing our event you acknowledge and agree to this condition.

What about weather?
The event will take place rain or shine. In the unlikely event of severe weather, stay tuned to the Facebook Event Page for updates. We’ll take precautions as recommended by the National Weather Service, but only in extreme cases will the event be postponed or cancelled. Your safety is our number one priority--your fun is our close second.

Are kids allowed?
Yes, kids love to get colored just as much as the rest of us. Kids 12 and under are FREE! (Processing fee still applies) All kids must be registered in order to participate and must be accompanied by a paid adult.

Can my family watch?
Most definitely they can come be a part of the craziest color day of your life! Just be sure to give them a big hug at the finish line for coming to support you! :)

Can I wear costumes?
Heck Yes! We love costumes! The whiter the better!

You wanna do the Color Vibe?
I wanna do a 5k run and get color blasted! The Color Vibe is the best 5k run where you'll get covered with vibrantly awesome colors and have a blast as you get color thrown all over you! Plus, you’ll get hooked up with all the freshest gear for you to customize yourself. Too legit. So keep it cool and get ready to rock it out!

What is the difference between a color run and chalk run.
The Color Vibe is a 5K run with color that is sometimes referred to as a paint run, paint race, chalk run, or chalk race. So when people refer to a chalk or paint race, they are most likley talking about the same thing as a color run. Color Vibe is one of many 5k color runs throughout the nation.

What time does the race begin?
Most of our races begin either at 8:00 or 9:00 AM (check your events runners guide for the exact start time), and then we'll release waives every 5 minutes or so. We recommend getting there 60 minutes early so you have plenty of time to park and stretch!  The event usually concludes between 11am-12pm.

Can I Walk?
Walking is totally acceptable here at the Color Vibe. You will be one of many who will be walking. We don't time the race and it is non-competitive, so you won't feel any pressure.

Can I purchase more items?
There will be additional items for purchase at the event so you can show the world how much fun you had!

How do I volunteer?
We'd love to have you come and help as a volunteer. Please select the event in your area, and then click on the volunteer link in the menu on the left hand side to register as a volunteer. Volunteers typically throw color on the participants, and/or help with registration, and clean up.

Who does it benefit?
The Color Vibe is a for-profit event. We partner with local charities and non-profit organizations in each of the cities we hold our events which will receive a portion of the proceeds. The amount is based on the size of the event and the involvement of the charity.

You can visit each event location to learn more about the organization we are working with in your local area. Our goal is to provide donation opportunities, generate awareness of the charity in the community, and maintain strong relationships with our charity partners.

What's the price and how do I register?
The registration price for the Color Vibe 5K varies based on each location and how soon you register for the event.  The sooner you register the cheaper the cost.

Can I refund my registration?
Bummer, No. Unfortunately it’s impossible for us to offer refunds. You can still pick up your packet and race goodies, or you can transfer your registration to someone else up to 1 week prior to the event.

Can I transfer my registration?
Yes! You can transfer your registration to someone else up to 1 week prior to the event. In order to to transfer registrations, you need to send us the name, contact info, email, and shirt size of the person to whom the registration will be transferred to. We can then take care of the rest. 

Can you ship my packet to me?
Since we do not charge a shipping fee, we are unable to ship out any merchandise, color packs, and runner packs if the participant does not pick them up at the event.

Can I run with my llama?
Of course (not)! Llama’s and other pets (anything non-human that poops) are not eligible to participate in Color Vibe.

Are there age limits?
No way! Everyone is welcome to come have tons of colorful fun at Color Vibe! We do recommend that your kids are properly protected with sunglasses, and for toddlers and infants, maybe even something to cover their mouth. The powdered chalk is non-toxic and made mainly with corn starch, but it could irritate the smaller ones more than adults.

All kids, ages 1 - 12 years old are allowed to run free (processing fee not included) with a paid adult. All kids who wish to participate must be registered.

Will I be timed?
No timing chips, but you will have the “time of your life”!

When is packet pickup?
The location of packet pickup is usually at a local running store or at the venue where the race will be held.

Packet Pick-up / Check-in is usually held the day before the event to alleviate congestion on race day and give everyone a better event experience. We strongly encourage you to come to Packet Pick-up or have someone get it for you.

If you are unable to attend Packet Pick-up, or would like to check-in on race day morning there will be a $5 late check-in fee per registration added when you get your packet.

Please bring your confirmation ticket that was emailed to you after you registered in order to obtain your packet. You can pick up other people's packets as long as you have their confirmation ticket.

What is included with my Color Vibe ticket?
Each ticket provides entry into the event, a race bib, and a color pack. A participant t-shirt is not included in the special offer pricing but may be purchased during the registration process.

Why isn't a t-shirt included with my race registration?
In our ongoing effort to keep race registration costs as low as possible for our runners we do not include a participant t-shirt in the base pricing. However, you may purchase a t-shirt, and plenty of other sweet merchandise, as part of the online registration process.

What should I wear?
You can wear what ever you want but we suggest white clothing because it shows up the color the best!

Will the color stain my clothes, shoes, or makeup?
If you want a lot of color to hit your shirt, plan to run or walk closer to the color throwers. If you want only a little bit of color, run or walk in the farthest lane from the throwers.The color does mostly wash out after the event, but some of it can stain. As with anything, the sooner you wash it the better. We suggest wearing items that you wouldn't mind getting the color on.

Will the color get in my car?
Bring a towel or some plastic bags along, and you’ll be just fine. However, if you do get some in your vehicle, it can be dusted away or vacuumed easily.

What if I see a double rainbow?
Whoa! Double rainbow..It’s so beautiful!! We do the best we can to provide an unforgettable experience, similar to seeing a double rainbow! Rest assured, you're going to love the Color Vibe 5k run and paint race.
